Pork Half Approximately $460

Pork halves are sold by hoof weight at $2.25 per pound plus the butcher charges. The average hoof weight for 2009 has been 160 pounds and the average butcher bill was $100 for a total cost of $460.00. This is definitely your best value if you have storage space or someone to share with. We have two heards of hogs - Hampshire/Berkshire crosses and Berkshire which are Heritage Hogs. Pork is available from Janurary to December.

Our chickens are Plymouth Barred Rock which are Heritage Breed

The average weight is 3-4 pounds and are available in the Fall

 

Beef Quarter - Approximately $710

Beef Quarters are sold by hoof weight at $2.75 per pound plus the butcher charges. The average hoof weight for 2009 was 250 pounds and the average butcher bill was $110 for a total cost of $710.00 per quarter.
